Marc-André Verner et Maryse Bouchard ont reçu une subvention de 220 459$ du Fonds Nouvelles frontières en recherche - volet Exploration du Comité de coordination de la recherche au Canada pour leur projet de recherche intitulé « Paving the way for chemical safety assessment without the use of animal testing: bridging toxicity testing from cells to populations ».

Charu Chandrasekera (Canadian Centre for Alternatives to Animal Methods) est également co-chercheure pour le projet. D'autres collaborateurs s'ajoutent également à l'équipe : Andy Nong (Santé Canada), Nynke Kramer (Utrecht University), Carole Yauk (Santé Canada) et Miyoung Yoon (US Food and Drug Administration).
