International Health unit

Canada's leading university hub for international health expertise, and the only French-language university hub in North America.

For almost 30 years, the mission of the Unité de Santé Internationale (USI) has been to contribute to the improvement of health in developing countries and countries in transition. Working in close partnership with these countries, USI supports the formulation and implementation of health policies, as well as the delivery of equitable and effective programs and services. It is the only French-speaking North American organization able to combine training, expertise, technical support and research in global health.

The guarantee of a solid, integrated organization.

Created in 1989 under the aegis of the Université de Montréal, USI makes a major contribution to the internationalization of its activities through the involvement of professors and researchers from several departments, as well as professionals recruited by USI. Since 2013, USI has been directly attached to the Université de Montréal's School of Public Health. This means privileged access to expertise in all the fields covered by the School of Public Health, as well as those of other components involved in the health sector, including nursing, demography, anthropology, political science, management and animal health sciences.

International Health Unit projects around the world
